Our Mission & Vision
With the move to our new facility in 2017, we moved from one food desert to another. Food deserts are defined as parts of the country lacking fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthful whole foods, usually found in impoverished areas. This is largely due to a lack of grocery stores, farmers' markets, and healthy food providers. In 2019, we took over our nutrition program and eliminated sugar from afterschool snacks and balanced meals. Our chef spends time preparing food that tastes good without unnecessary calories, added salt or sugar. When we combine this with big muscle activity and physical fitness programs, we are confident that our children have the best chance for healthy lives and the best possible chance to learn.
