Welcome to NBAP Christian Youth Center Website

Mission Statement:

New Beginnings Are Possible provides urban youth exposed to at-risk conditions in Milwaukee with a Biblically-based moral foundation needed to make healthy choices to become contributing members of the community.

Rather than simply “warehousing” youth as a drop in center, we focus on relationship building and one-on-one interactions with our youth interactions with our youth ages 6-18 who are enrolled in our programs. Part of the New Beginnings difference is to provide unique mentoring opportunities through our volunteer program, individual education plans to improve academic achievement, transportation to our center, and a daily hot meal.

Be Part of a Spectacular Community Event

New Beginnings Are Possible and its partners want to provide a great time, free services, and good information to the Sherman Park & Metcalfe park area, so we're holding a Community Block Party featuring Live entertainment, food, activities and more on Saturday, July 25, 2015. But we really need help. As a volunteer, you can choose from a variety of roles to help us set up and run this all-ages, family-friendly event. Please help us provide our community with a quality event promoting education, stop the violence rally, and the health of our community. We can't do it without you! Look below for the volunteer role you'd enjoy the most and sign up today!

Location: Unity Missionary Baptist Church
3835 W Fond Du Lac Ave
  Milwaukee, WI 53216

Set Up Helpers
Volunteers will help set up the event area by hanging signs and displays, setting up tables at booths, setting up chairs, and all other miscellaneous duties. Will involve a level of lifting, carrying, and walking. We also need to have someone setting up and playing games with children and face painters.
Concession Table Attendants Volunteers will take charge in the concession booth giving out bottled water , soda or juice, popcorn, and lemonade.
Greeters
Stationed at various locations around event area, Greeters will greet attendees warmly and offer them an event map and schedule of events. Greeters will also answer any questions guests may have, or direct them to locations where guests can find answers.
Event Clean-Up
During the event, we need volunteers to keep the event site clean by picking up any waste not placed in a trash can, and periodically checking waste receptacles and emptying them so the beauty of New Beginnings Are Possible is maintained throughout the day.
Event Tear-Down
Once the event is over, we could really use help breaking down tables and chairs, taking down signs and displays, and bringing New Beginnings Are Possible back to its original magnificent state.

2015 Annual Dinner

It is about time to start thinking of our next Annual Dinner. Our last one was a huge success with our excellent speaker former Green Bay Packer, Leeroy Butler.

We are hoping to have an equally as well one this year sometime near the end of October, date is tentative and may be subject to change. It'll be a special never before done by NBAP annual event involving a fun basketball challenge for you to participate in or watch the competition. More details are to come, so check back often.

If you would like to contribute to the Annual Dinner with Raffle prizes or any other contributions please contact Jeff or Lola at 414-449-1546.
